Bottom Shelf Theatre - Reasons Why I Drink
Every writer has at least one piece they think is terrible, a piece they never thought would see the light of day. The piece that gets tucked away on a bottom shelf, properly buried and promptly forgotten.
We called out for writers to find that script, dust it off and do something with it!
And the writers delivered! They sent us their worst scenes. The bad rough drafts. The once-brilliant-but-now-pretentious first attempts at perfection. The Opus that on a second look was really just the screech of one level characters and storylines leading nowhere.
Now that the deadline for sumissions has arrived, we begin reading...and drinking. Stay tuned over the next weeks as we make and announce our selections.
Like the great philosophers said of a rough draft, “Sucking at something is the first step towards kind of being good at something, and so on.” So let's celebrate the steps that got us to better by sharing those scenes that gave us all a reason to drink.
Join us Wednesday March 15th 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at The Atlantic Bar and Grill for an evening of 5-10 minute scenes of intentionally bad, epically terrible and downright hilarious theatre!
It's better when you drink so your ticket will include ALL YOU CAN DRINK domestic beer, wine and well beverages. Oh and appetizers to soak it all up.
But wait, there's more! Since it's St. Patrick's week we'll have leprechauns, fun raffle prizes, and even a pot of gold!
The world is your vodka soaked oyster.
