Court & Country
Court & Country is an a capella vocal ensemble based in the Chicago area which performs Medieval and Renaissance choral music written through the early 17th century, including works by some of the most prominent sacred & secular choral composers of those eras. Our music is performed in multiple languages (English, Italian, Latin, French & Spanish ) and features such themes as hunting and drinking; glory, pride and caution; secular life and sacred worship; and, of course, love and courtship.
June 19th & 20th @ 6pm & 21st @ 1pm
The Floating Opera Project
The Floating Opera Project was developed to realize the dream of accessible, engaging operas performed for a modern viewer. It aims to bring opera back to the people, and fill a gap in the classical music scene that was left when many of America's great national touring companies disbanded. Our name, "Floating," is for the intentional lack of ties to any specific stage or opera house, a company that can move freely to meet the demand for performance where it is wanted, and inspire the desire for live opera where it wasn't previously needed.
